Qualifications for Membership
Membership in the Chapter is neither transferable nor assignable. Membership is held in the individual's name, not an organization with which the member is affiliated. Membership dues cover the calendar year January 1 through December 31.
Includes the right to vote or hold an elected or appointed office. They must:
Work primarily in the practice of human resource management or responsible for the administrative direction of the human resource function, either exempt or non-exempt.
Be certified by the Human Resource Certification Institute.
Be a faculty member holding an assistant, associate or full professor rank in human resource management or any of its specialized functions at an accredited college or university.
Be a full-time consultant or attorney actively involved in advising clients on matters relating to the human resource profession.
Does not include the right to vote or hold elected or appointed office. Individuals that do not meet the Professional Membership criteria, but have an interest in HR management.
Does not include the right to vote or hold elected or appointed office. Student Members must be enrolled at a college or university as a full-time undergraduate (12 or more credit hours) or a graduate student (6 or more credit hours) with a interest in human resources. Must not be employed or working on a full-time basis in an HR position. Student Members pay luncheon fees at a discounted rate.
Approval of Memberships
Application for membership can be by completing the online application. All applications are reviewed by the Membership Chair and approved by a majority vote of a quorum the Board of Directors. Candidates for membership will be notified of their status and their membership shall become effective upon payment of membership dues. Upon approval you will be issued a user name and a password for the website secure access areas.
New Member Dues
New member dues will be billed on an annual basis. Dues paid in the last quarter of the year will be credited as payment for the subsequent year. For example, new member approved in October, November or December of a given year will be credited to the following year's annual membership dues.
- Professional Membership: (Non SHRM member) $60 / year
- Professional Membership: (With SHRM membership) $50 / year
- Student Membership: $35 / year
- Student Membership:(With SHRM membership) $15 / year
- Affiliate Membership: $100.00 / year
